Start Up: The East Palo Alto Micro-Business Initiative

DaNesha Fuller opened Taletah Day Care with help from Start Up in East Palo Alto. Start Up was established over 10 years ago as a collaborative effort between six Stanford Graduate School of Business students, including Community Foundation Silicon Valley donor Greg Waldorf, and community leaders in East Palo Alto. Through training programs, consulting assistance, legal services, and access to business and financial resources, Start Up helps local residents become entrepreneurs. This year, Start Up received a $25,000 grant through the Community Foundation’s Community Impact Grant program.
