Chris Peacock brings more than 20 years experience in the independent sector, government and business, communicating with a wide range of audiences.
Before joining the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, he was vice president of membership and marketing at the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce. At the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, he was director of communications and helped launch innovative information campaigns and the Foundation’s Barbara Jordan Conference Center in Washington D.C. As a corporate public relations spokesman for Cisco Systems Inc., his responsibilities ranged from business issues to a Nobel Foundation partnership that produced the first-ever survey of Nobel laureates.
In Washington D.C., Chris served as director of media relations for the federal agency administering Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, as director of public affairs for Treasury Secretaries Lloyd Bentsen and Bob Rubin, and as U.S. Senate Finance Committee press secretary. He was president of the bipartisan U.S. Senate Press Secretaries Association and majored in journalism at Washington & Lee University.
Chris and his wife Michelle, who have been San Jose residents since 2000, live in the Willow Glen neighborhood with their son Thomas and daughter Mary Charlotte.
