DAVID ECKMANN
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE, INDIVIDUAL GIVING
David has been a part of Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s development team since February 2007. He works closely with the director of individual giving and is responsible for supporting the strategy that seeks out and brings in new donors to the community foundation.
Before joining the community foundation, David was serving tables and attending Santa Clara University where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. His interest in American politics and government led him to an internship in the Washington, D.C. office of Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren and later to an internship in the Santa Clara County Office of Affordable Housing. He soon realized, however, that his true passion was to work in the nonprofit sector where he could make a genuine impact on the community.
Although he is a Silicon Valley native, before starting college David found his way to Germany for a year abroad where he met his wife, Kathy. In his off-time, David enjoys sports of all kinds, including baseball, mixed martial arts, football and competitive eating.
