DENISE BATONGBACAL
COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

Denise Batongbacal supports all of the community foundation’s internal and external marketing and communications activities. Previously, Denise was an assistant for Community Foundation Silicon Valley’s Donor Services department and the Silicon Valley Social Venture Fund, also known as SV2.

Prior to joining Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Denise was an experienced fundraiser and event planner for various nonprofit organizations. She was the development associate at Filipino Community Support and San José State University’s Center for Service-Learning. She also worked in the development and human resources departments at The Health Trust. In 2005, Denise raised $51,000 in grant funds for Filipino Community Support, and helped raise $100,000 in sponsorships for The Health Trust Women’s Health Conference.

Passionate about the Filipino community and women’s issues, she serves on the founding committee of Malaya and on the board of the Eating Disorders Resource Center. She graduated from UCLA with a bachelor of arts in International Development. She continues to enjoy supporting her alma mater during football and basketball season and attends the games versus Stanford or UC Berkeley every year. She also enjoys knitting, discovering new restaurants and attending musicals and concerts. A first-generation Bay Area native, Denise lives in the Alamo/Walnut Creek area with her family and cat.
