KATIE BEHROOZI
OUTREACH AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

As outreach and development manager for Raising A Reader®, Katie works with community leaders around the country to replicate and grow the Raising A Reader early literacy program.

Katie came to Raising A Reader in January 2005 with more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, including fundraising and strategy work for City Year, The Breakthrough Collaborative, and the Positive Coaching Alliance. She holds an Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in education from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Princeton University. 

A North Carolina native, Katie takes advantage of the golden California sunshine by riding and racing her road bike at every opportunity. She also enjoys playing orchestral and chamber music with her husband and friends, knitting, cross-country skiing, and baking decadent treats. She and her husband, Cyrus, became parents in early 2007.
