NICOLE MONTANO
CORPORATE & INTERNATIONAL GRANTS ASSOCIATE
As the corporate and international grants associate for Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Nicole is responsible for the processing of all corporate and international grant requests recommended by corporate advised funds and, on occasion, a few donor advised funds. She makes sure that the international organizations meet the guidelines and are equivalent to those of a U.S.-based organization before sending out a grant.
Nicole joined Community Foundation Silicon Valley in 2005 as the donor services assistant and quickly advanced to the donor services associate position. During her time in this position she has become the in-house expert at international grant processing. With over fifteen years experience in customer service, Nicole keeps the corporations up-to-date on their international giving.
Nicole volunteers for the Viola Blythe Community Service Center in Newark, California by sorting food, articles and toys for the less fortunate and by working at their major fundraiser events such as the fire works booth and casino night. She also volunteers with her husband and children at the annual Comcast Cares Day. This is a company-wide day of service in which Comcast employees, along with their families and friends, volunteer on the same day in their local communities. For the past three years Nicole has helped renovate three elementary schools within her hometown.
Nicole was born and raised in Fremont, California where she still resides with her family. She enjoys going for long rides with her husband, Tito, on the back of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. When they are not riding, they are camping and boating with their four boys: Joey, Matthew, Tito Jr. and Carlos.
