SHIRLEY MCLAUGHLIN
ASSOCIATE DONOR ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

As an associate donor engagement officer, Shirley works with fund advisors to help them accomplish their philanthropic missions. This includes working directly with donors as well as providing technical and strategic input on all of Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s technology platforms that make the donor experience easy, enriching and engaging.

Before assuming her initial role as donor engagement coordinator with the community foundation, Shirley was involved in multiple departments of Peninsula Community Foundation including the Peninsula Partnership for Children, Youth and Families™.

Shirley is a graduate of Mills College in Oakland and a native of San Mateo County. With a degree in public policy, Shirley has worked on various political campaigns including Congresswoman Barbara Lee, San José mayoral candidate Cindy Chavez and for EMILY’s List, a national political action committee dedicated to increasing the number of women who serve in public office at all levels of government. She is also Citizen Scholar of the Institute for Civic Leadership, and she has worked and volunteered for various nonprofits.

Shirley loves to play tennis and lounge at the beach. She’s looking forward to attending law school in the future.
