DONOR ENGAGEMENT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
(FULL TIME/NON-EXEMPT)

JOB SUMMARY

Created from the merger of Peninsula Community Foundation and Community Foundation Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Community Foundation brings together the complementary strengths of each parent foundation to create a greater impact than either could realize alone. The new community foundation is committed to serving as a center for philanthropy providing world-class services to donors and nonprofits and inspiring greater civic participation throughout the San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Act as the assistant to the vice president of donor engagement. Provide administrative support to the vice president of donor engagement and to the donor engagement department as required.

Salary range: $17.80 to $19.23 per hour commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the calendar for the vice president of donor engagement.
  • Draft documents and emails as required.
  • Field calls and handle telephone communication as required.
  • Conduct mass mailings for department, requiring mail merge and mailing list compilation.
  • Support and assist in organization and prioritization of duties and department activities.
  • Interface with grants & gifts team on letters and IT department on database updates.
  • Develop and prepare presentations, including necessary supporting documentation and information.
  • Coordinate, schedule and follow up on all travel and meetings for the vice president of donor engagement and others in department as required.
  • Support other associates as required and requested.
  • Assist the grantmaking and the community initiatives, convening and research departments to accomplish the giving division’s goals and work across the community foundation to support the community foundation’s goals, priorities and mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year/Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, Powerpoint knowledge a plus.
  • Some database experience helpful.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work in a start-up like environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with diverse people in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to approach situations and challenges with a sense of humor.
