CREATIVE DIRECTOR
(Full Time/Exempt)
JOB SUMMARY
Created from the merger of Peninsula Community Foundation and Community Foundation Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Community Foundation brings together the complementary strengths of each parent foundation to create a greater impact than either could realize alone. The new community foundation is committed to serving as a center for philanthropy providing world-class services to donors and nonprofits and inspiring greater civic participation throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The marketing and communications department is responsible for communicating the vision and work of the community foundation, including website, print and multimedia communications. Reporting to the vice president of marketing and communications, the Creative Director will oversee the community foundation’s graphic identity. This individual will develop and manage all internal and external art and graphics, and website for the community foundation.
Salary Range: $75, 000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee, develop and implement the multi-media visual identity of the community foundation.
- Develop or oversee the creation of all graphics and creative.
- Manage/enhance the community foundation’s website.
- Ensure the vision and messages of the community foundation are reflected through use of art and graphics.
- Manage/create the graphics used in internal and external publications.
- Oversee the consistent use of graphics as described in the community foundation’s style guide.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of e-newsletters and e-blasts.
- Oversee consultants used for graphic design and other marketing projects.
- Update and advise the vice president of marketing and communications on new developments in graphic design, website and multimedia communications, and website usage.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or communications.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in marketing, public relations and communications field, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Excellent managerial skills: both people management and project management.
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, oral and written.
- Excellent graphic and creative skills.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in development of professional skills/expertise.
- Ability to approach situations and challenges with a sense of humor.
- Demonstrated team player with the ability to work with diverse groups.
