GIFTS ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATE
(Full Time/Non-Exempt)
JOB SUMMARY
Created from the merger of Peninsula Community Foundation and Community Foundation Silicon Valley, Silicon Valley Community Foundation brings together the complementary strengths of each parent foundation to create a greater impact than either could realize alone. The new community foundation is committed to serving as a center for philanthropy providing world-class services to donors and nonprofits and inspiring greater civic participation throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
Reporting to the gifts administration officer, primary responsibilities include cash receipts and accounts receivable. Other tasks include bank deposit of gifts, coding proper funds and accounts, data entry of all check and cash gifts, preparing and mailing gift acknowledgement letters and serving as a backup for the stock gifts & project funding associate.
Salary range: $16.83 - $21.63 per hour commensurate with experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enter all check and cash donations into the donation module.
- Produce gift confirmation letters, ensuring they are personalized and accurate before mailing.
- Assist in keeping gift processing procedures manual current.
- Create and maintain all accounting files pertinent to gifts.
- Assist grants and gifts staff with special projects as needed.
- Develop an understanding of the audit process and the records that need to be maintained. Work with accounting and audit team each year to provide requested information.
- Interact and communicate with development and donor engagement departments regarding gifts receipt and communication with donors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of college with an AA Degree, with an emphasis in finance, or relevant work experience.
- Attention to detail and proven ability to perform tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong computer skills with experience in Word, Excel, Database, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to organize tasks and work flow and to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with diverse groups of people and in a multicultural team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Initiative, good judgment and ability to work with humor even when under pressure.
- Strong sense of office protocol.
