Nancy Handel is a corporate executive with experience in some of the most fast-paced and challenging global high-tech markets. As chief financial officer for Applied Materials from 2004 to 2007, she earned a spot among the highest-ranking women in the Fortune 500. Named one of the “Best CFOs in America” by Institutional Investor magazine in 2006, Nancy joined Applied Materials in 1985 and supported its growth from $175 million to more than $9 billion in annual revenues, with 14,000 employees around the world. Long listed on Fortune’s list of “America’s Most Admired Companies”, Applied Materials was named among the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” by Business Ethics magazine in 2006.
Honored for her professional achievements and contributions to enhancing the quality of life in Silicon Valley, Nancy received the Community Service Award at the 2006 Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards. She is a Senior Fellow of Class XI and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Silicon Valley chapter of the American Leadership Forum. Nancy is a leader with the Girl Scouts of Santa Clara County serving 12 years on the Board of Directors and six as president. She previously served as a member of the Advisory Board of the Community Foundation Silicon Valley and the Alumni Board of Directors of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. |
