Gretchen G. Velasco
Accountant

As an accountant for Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Gretchen is responsible for reconciling and balancing investment pool accounts. Gretchen first joined the staff as a temporary employee in the San Mateo office, was hired as A/P grant Associate – funds position and a month later was promoted to accountant.

In 1992, she received her Bachelor of Science with a major in commerce - accounting from St. Paul College at Quezon City in the Philippines. She started her career as a banker for Citibank, Philippines. Gretchen has six years experience in the hospitality industry and worked as a staff accountant at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Florida before relocating to California in 2006.

She has two wonderful children: 10-year-old Gennica and nine-year-old Gellie. Gretchen loves to cook Filipino dishes and enjoys singing with her daughters.
