Khanh Bui
Corporate Philanthropy Manager
As a corporate philanthropy manager, Khanh works closely with corporations to meet their philanthropic missions -- providing research, strategic and tactical planning, evaluation and grantmaking services.
Khanh joined Silicon Valley Community Foundation in 2007 as a donor engagement officer. In that role, he worked with a portfolio of more than 100 donor advised funds and led the systems team that developed web-based strategies for donor learning and convening. Prior to joining the community foundation, Khanh was the staff director for San Jose City Councilman Sam Liccardo and managed public-private partnerships, community collaborations and regional planning. Previously, he worked for Kaiser Permanente Community Benefits, North Hills Community Outreach and The Forbes Funds at the Pittsburgh Community Foundation.
His volunteer work includes serving on the boards of Gardner Family Health Network, Gardner Family Care Corporation, Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana/MACLA, Digital Media Academy, Wireless Neighborhood and Bay Area Asian Pacific American Legislative Staffers.
Khanh holds a Master of Science degree in public policy and management, concentrating in information technology and human resource management, from Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies. He was also a Coro Northern California public affairs fellow.
