Casey Shook
Development Assistant
Casey joined Silicon Valley Community Foundation in 2008, and provides administrative support to the development department. Reporting directly to the vice president of development, Casey serves as the main point of contact for the development hotline to ensure appropriate routing of all donation-related inquiries, especially about the various philanthropic funds offered by the community foundation. She also monitors the department's budget and aids in coordinating events and meetings.
Casey graduated from Seattle University in June 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and minors in women's studies and Spanish. While in Seattle, she worked in the development department at the 5th Avenue Theatre Association, the Northwest's largest musical theater and the debut stage for many up-and-coming Broadway productions. On campus, she was very involved with her school's radio station, serving as a weekly on-air DJ for three years and as programming director for two. Casey was a founding member of the university's first Gay-Straight Alliance and also volunteered with Providence Hospitality House, a temporary residence for homeless mothers and their children seeking support in their search for long-term housing.
Born and raised in Silicon Valley, Casey enjoys driving over the hill to Capitola and other beach towns, hosting dinner parties, cooking and baking, and spending time with her significant other, Jason, and their cat, Bigby.
