Ivonne Montes de Oca
The Pinnacle Company
Ivonne Montes de Oca is president and founder of The Pinnacle Company, a marketing communications group. Ivonne began her career as a journalist and founded The Pinnacle Company in October 1991.
During her journalism career, she wrote for the Silicon Valley/San José Business Journal. Her incisive articles about high-tech, financial and global markets were noted for their insight and thoroughness.
In addition to numerous industry awards—including a Silver Anvil— Ivonne received the Outstanding Woman of Silicon Valley award from former San José Mayor Susan Hammer and the Woman of Achievement award from The Women's Fund. In 2007 she was selected to be one among the "100 Most Influential Hispanics in Silicon Valley" by a panel of community leaders.
Starting in 1999, she led the effort to join the Hispanic Charity Ball's committee members — who until then had been an independent group of volunteers — with the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. The transition and integration into one entity took about two and a half years, and resulted in a successful fusion of the group's vision and mission. In 2008, Ivonne was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Silicon Valley Chapter as a Distinguished Volunteer Fundraiser for her successful efforts on behalf of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley.
Her community involvement includes serving as a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum (Class IX), past president and founding member of the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and as an active member of the Rotary Club of San José.
