Managing Director at Miramar Environmental, Inc. and the Miramar Environmental Center
Jayne Battey is a founding partner of Miramar Environmental Inc. and the Miramar Environmental Center. Miramar Environmental provides environmental management and land stewardship services to corporate clients, while also giving back to the California community through the strategic planning, organizational development, education and collaboration services of the Miramar Environmental Center.
Prior to co-founding Miramar, Jayne was the Director of Land and Environmental Management for Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In this capacity Jayne managed a staff of over 300 professionals that oversaw land acquisition, survey and stewardship of PG&E's land holdings, as well as environmental planning and permitting for new construction. Prior to joining PG&E, Jayne was the founding Executive Director of the Stewardship Council, a $100 million-funded private foundation dedicated to land conservation and environmental education for youth. Jayne managed the foundation from its formation in 2005 until early 2009. Jayne is also the co-founder and past- president of Essex Environmental, an award-winning environmental consulting firm that she ran for over 15 years before it was acquired by TRC Solutions in 2002.
Jayne received her Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her bachelor's degree from Boston College. She is a board member of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation and a Fellow with the American Leadership Foundation, Class XXIV. She spent six years as a board member of the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board from 1999 to 2005. She and her husband, Mark, have three children and live just north of Half Moon Bay on the San Mateo County coast.
