Jayne Battey

Director of Land and Environmental Management for Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Jayne BatteyJayne Battey is the Director of Land and Environmental Management for Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In this capacity Jayne manages a staff of 250 professionals that oversee land acquisition, survey, and stewardship of PG&E's 160,000 acres of land, as well as environmental planning and permitting for new construction. Prior to joining PG&E, Jayne was the founding executive director of the Stewardship Council, a $100 million-funded private foundation dedicated to land conservation and environmental education for youth. Jayne managed the foundation from its formation in 2005 until early 2009. Prior to the Stewardship Council, Jayne was president of Essex Environmental, an award-winning environmental consulting firm she co-founded in 1988 and sold to TRC Solutions in 2002.

Jayne received her Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her bachelor's degree from Boston College. She is currently a board member of the Cabrillo Education Foundation and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. She spent six years as a board member of the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board from 1999 to 2005. She and her husband, Mark, have three children and live just north of Half Moon Bay on the San Mateo County coast.
