John Stuckey
Senior Vice President, Finance
As a member of the community foundation's leadership team reporting to the chief financial and administrative officer, John is responsible for oversight and accuracy of Silicon Valley Community Foundation's daily financial transactions and financial reporting. This includes oversight of four departments: accounting, investments, grants and gifts, and facilities. John's staff is responsible for annual budget, financial reporting, development and maintenance of internal controls, managing the annual audit/tax process, investment management and grants administration.
Prior to joining the community foundation in 2008, John spent seven years in executive finance positions at three Bay Area non-profit organizations. John began his non-profit career at the Mexican Heritage Corporation, where he held the position of controller and director of operations. During his final year at MHC, he held a dual role of managing director. John then moved to the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga as chief financial officer, where he was responsible for finance/audit, buildings and grounds, human resources and neighborhood relations. Most recently, John served as senior director of finance and administration for The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. Before entering the non-profit environment, John spent more than 25 years in corporate finance and technical services management positions with Xerox Corporation.
John is an alumnus of Cal State University, Fresno where he received his bachelor's of science degree in business administration. A native of Seattle, Washington, John has lived in the Bay Area since 1981. He has two grown children and lives in Sunnyvale. John enjoys weekends at Pajaro Dunes, wood working and spending time with his grand kids whenever possible.
