Julie Hopper
Associate Corporate Philanthropy Manager
As an associate corporate philanthropy manager in the business services department, Julie supports the community foundation’s corporate partners in reaching their local and global philanthropic goals. Tapping into her previous educational and foundation experience in international political culture, immigration policy and human services, Julie is committed to working with our corporate partners to better the communities where their employees live and work.
A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Julie earner her bachelor’s in political science, with a concentration in global affairs. As a Mustang, Julie refined her fluency in French by studying abroad in Grenoble, the tech mecca of France. She also attended the Panetta Institute for Public Policy's Congressional Internship Program, where she "learned by doing" in Washington D.C. She assisted in legislative analysis, performing legislative research for the Committee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation and Trade, and spearheading technological innovation within the congressional office. A strong proponent of the community foundation model, Julie previously served as the program assistant for San Luis Obispo County Community Foundation, and originally joined Silicon Valley Community Foundation as the business services associate.
During her spare time, Julie enjoys hiking and yoga, spending time with her valued family and friends, and playing at the beach with her chocolate lab, Bailey. Originally from Santa Cruz, Julie is a Central Coast native and currently resides in Mountain View.
