Rebecca SalnerRebecca is responsible for managing all aspects of marketing and communications at Silicon Valley Community Foundation, which is both a philanthropic leader and financial steward that brings together people who want to make a difference locally, nationally and internationally.

She joined the community foundation in 2008 as media relations officer and continues to be the primary interface between the media and the community foundation.

Rebecca brings more than 20 years of media and communications experience to the community foundation. She was an assistant managing editor at the Mercury News, supervising business and technology coverage until 2008. Over the years, she was responsible for projects and investigations at the Mercury News and served as the food editor and city editor. Rebecca began her career in the media as a reporter at the San Francisco Examiner, where she covered criminal justice and regional issues on the Peninsula.

Rebecca has a bachelor's degree in journalism from San Francisco State University. She has been a volunteer with Child Advocates of Santa Clara County. Born in Germany, Rebecca grew up in the East Bay and now lives in Campbell.
