Shirley Lam
Grants Administration Officer
As grants administration officer, Shirley manages the grants administration unit and is responsible for ensuring all grants paid from the community foundation and its funds are processed in a timely, accurate and compliant manner. She is excited to help the community foundation make new and unique types of grants in pursuit of its mission of advancing innovative philanthropic solutions to challenging problems.
Before assuming her initial role as the grants administration officer, Shirley was an associate officer in the donor engagement department, managing a portfolio of over 200 donor advised funds and working with individuals and families to make the most of their philanthropic giving. She was also involved in the community foundation’s technology platforms, helping to build the strength of internal and external systems with the goal of engaging donors and making basic transactions easy.
Shirley is a graduate of Mills College in Oakland and currently attends University of San Francisco School of Law. She lives in San Francisco and spends her free time with her son, husband and pug, going to Giants games and exploring the Bay Area.
