Victoria Mendiola
Senior Donor Engagement Officer
As senior donor engagement officer, Victoria works with donor advisors to ensure they receive the philanthropic support and opportunities for involvement they're seeking. Her focus is on helping donors meet their charitable goals while having a meaningful, enjoyable and impactful giving experience.
No stranger to the community foundation and the nonprofit sector, Victoria spent 11 years working in donor engagement at our parent foundation, Peninsula Community Foundation and a subsequent four years doing both program work and development/donor engagement work at Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. Prior to joining the community foundation in the 1990’s, she worked as executive director of a state preschool program in the Fair Oaks community of Redwood City. Victoria received a Master degree in Public Administration from California State University, East Bay. She rejoined the community foundation in 2011.
Victoria was born and raised in Redwood City, where she lives with her husband and their San Francisco Giants-obsessed seven-year-old son. She is very involved at her son's school and also serves on the board of the Bernard A. Newcomb Foundation, a supporting organization at the community foundation. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys reading (usually with a cat or two on her lap), watching Audrey Hepburn movies and, most of all, spending time with treasured family and friends.
