DONOR CIRCLE FOR THE ARTS

"I would never have known about all these fantastic small arts organizations were it not for the opportunity to learn about them through the Donor Circle for the Arts."

Guy Tiphane,
member of the Donor Circle for the Arts

Our Donor Circle for the Arts Fund is a unique collaboration between donors and emerging artists and arts groups in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. The goal is to encourage the creation and appreciation of professional quality artistic works that reflect the diverse cultural communities of our region.

Membership is open to all community foundation fund advisors. Joining the Donor Circle for the Arts offers opportunities to:

  • Share your passion for the arts and meet others who share this commitment
  • Deepen your understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing performing and visual artists, cultural organizations and arts education in California and in our two-county region
  • Discuss your giving experiences and learn from other donors
  • Pool resources with other donors in order to fund some grants as a group

In its first year, with support from community foundation staff and the James Irvine Foundation, the donor circle funded 16 organizations representing dance, music, media, literary, performing and visual arts for a total amount of $55,000.
