Letter from the CEO: Taking Up New Opportunities
For many of us, the beginning of the year is filled with resolutions and plans to do better and break new ground. As a community foundation, we are also setting new goals.

Changes and Additions to Our Board of Directors
Kicking off the new year, Silicon Valley Community Foundation announced Patricia Bresee as its newly appointed board chair. Additionally, Thomas J. Friel and Ivonne Montes de Oca have joined the board of directors.

Feb. 15 Grant Application Deadline
We had over 280 attendees at our four grant information meetings held in January.  For those of you unable to attend, we recommend that you download a copy our grants extension FAQs.  Attendance at a grant information meeting is not required to apply, but the deadline is just around the corner. By 5 p.m. on Feb. 15, 2008, all letters of inquiry for Community Endowment grants and Community Investment and Organizational Effectiveness grant applications must be submitted.
