Grantmaking Update:
Steps to Building a New Structure

Now that the Feb. 15 deadline has passed for letters of intent and grant applications to be submitted under the final, parent foundations’ guidelines, we have often been asked: What happens next? Even as we develop a new grantmaking structure to be launched later this year, endowment grantmaking has continued under our parent foundations’ guidelines. 

A key priority for us is to review and respond to the more than 300 grant applications and letters of intent we recently received; endowment grant awards will be made in the upcoming months.

Concurrently, our Community Input Project is helping us determine gaps and identify strategic and timely opportunities so together, we can make a significant difference in our diverse community. The next phase of this project is a community survey.  This survey will be launched by the end of March and will be open to nonprofits, donors and community members committed to investing in our region.  The survey will be available on our website. Your feedback on important issues affecting our region, data from the nine strategic conversations and a comprehensive review of prior research and reports will help us create new initiatives, grantmaking priorities and a research and public policy agenda.

We are also continuing to make timely information and resources available so you can be informed about the challenges, issues and opportunities within our region.  Be sure to check out and download the following tools:
