APPLY FOR A GRANT

Silicon Valley Community Foundation is focused on innovative solutions that solve problems and improve the quality of life throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. As a new community foundation, we need time to examine the diverse needs across our region, evaluate the best practices of our parent foundations and incorporate community input before launching a new, regional grantmaking strategy in 2008.

Organizations interested in applying by the Feb. 15, 2008 grant application deadline should view our frequently asked questions and answers for additional information.

Interim Community Grants Program

During the next several months, we will continue the main community grantmaking programs of Community Foundation Silicon Valley and Peninsula Community Foundation which are organized according to the geographic area of the communities served.

Silicon Valley Community Foundation will host grant information meetings in January 2008. Community foundation staff will answer questions about our interim grantmaking guidelines and process, and provide an update on our Community Input Project, which will help us determine gaps and identify strategic and timely opportunities so together, we can make a significant difference in our community. These meetings are optional – attendance is not required for those organizations intending to apply by the Feb. 15, 2008 grant application deadline.

The 2008 grant information meetings are scheduled for:

- Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in our Mountain View headquarters
- Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Kirsch Conference Center of our San José office. (FULL - we have reached maximum capacity)
- Thursday, Jan. 17, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Imagination Room of our San Mateo office.
- Friday, Jan. 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in our Mountain View headquarters

If you would like to attend, please respond to Heather Saito Lastra, events coordinator, at hslastra@siliconvalleycf.org and specify which meeting you plan to attend.
