Apply for a Grant: Redwood City to Gilroy
Silicon Valley Community Foundation currently offers two primary grantmaking programs for nonprofit organizations serving residents in the region from Redwood City to Gilroy:
- Community Investment grants; and
- Organizational Effectiveness grants.
Other funds are not open to application at this time.
An application must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2008. Applications should be submitted to the community foundation’s Mountain View headquarters.
Community Investment and Organizational Effectiveness Grants
The community foundation's Community Investment and Organizational Effectiveness grants for organizations from Redwood City to Gilroy fall within the following four strategic areas.
Arts and Cultural Participation
We believe that the arts and culture are an essential component of a healthy vital community. We invest in organizations that increase the diversity of cultural experiences for people in Silicon Valley.
Civic Engagement
We are committed to the renewal of neighborhoods by strengthening the civic participation of its residents and concerned stakeholders. We invest in organizations that create and sustain strong neighborhoods and encourage people to participate through involvement in regional issues and problem solving that helps to ensure the long term health of our community.
Education and Lifelong Learning
The community foundation believes that education can be the great equalizer in a community as diverse as Silicon Valley, providing equal opportunity for personal growth and success. We invest in education at all levels from early childhood through adult continuing education.
Self-Reliant Individuals and Families
The community foundation believes in helping individuals and families to become stable and productive members of the community. We invest in organizations that address the personal and environmental factors that are critical to developing self-reliant individuals, families and communities: income and assets; education and skills; housing and food; health; safety and a safe environment; relationships; and personal attributes.
