Advised Funds Grants Associate

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Grants Administration of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, primary responsibilities include client service, data entry, grant research and processing. The associate is responsible for processing grant recommendations submitted by the community foundation’s donor advised fund holders. This position also serves as backup for other grants associates as needed.

Salary range: $16.83-$19.23 per hour. Wage to commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process donor advised and competitive grants, including data entry, conducting due diligence and verifying grant compliance.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding grant status and procedures, and requests for information by phone, email and in person.
  • Ensure timely approval of grants each week.
  • Provide timely, responsive and professional customer service to assigned relationships.
  • Prepare grant award letters, collate, and mail with checks.
  • Prepare wire transfer letters for wired grants.
  • Cross-train and provide backup to other grants associates (i.e., word process and mail merge grant letters and donor correspondence).
  • Assist in keeping advised fund grant processing procedures manual current.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Assist other staff with generating and maintaining Word templates.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years college with an AA Degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience with customer service and web-based research desirable.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to perform tasks independently with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Word, Excel, Database, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to organize tasks and work flow and to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse group of people in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member in varied activities and projects.
  • Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work with humor even when under pressure.
  • Strong sense of office protocol.
