CHARITABLE GIVING TO ASIA SIMPLIFIED
THROUGH NEW PARTNERSHIP

Silicon Valley Community Foundation and Give2Asia Working Together to Build Connections Between Local Donors and Overseas Charitable Causes

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA – Silicon Valley Community Foundation, an innovative center for philanthropy serving San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, and Give2Asia, a U.S. public charity dedicated to helping philanthropists make a difference in Asia, have initiated a partnership that will connect donors in Silicon Valley to causes and needs in the Asia-Pacific region.

By incorporating the world-class donor services offered by the community foundation into the international, donor-advised grantmaking capabilities offered by Give2Asia, donors can more easily give to charitable groups in Asia.

“This partnership complements our mission to support Silicon Valley’s charitable giving to causes locally, nationally and around the globe,” said Emmett D. Carson, Ph.D., CEO and president of the community foundation. “It further enhances our ability to match a donor’s philanthropic goals to groups and projects in Asia.”

Donors and fund advisors interested in supporting projects in Asia can work with community foundation staff to access Give2Asia’s services at a discounted rate, including advised grants to local charities identified by donors and custom programs researched by Give2Asia based on donor giving goals.

“Our first priority is building new connections and expanding our community of people who care about Asia’s future,” said Ray Klinke, interim president and CEO of Give2Asia. “There is a historic, close connection between Silicon Valley and Asia, and this partnership helps to keep that connection strong.”
