Director, Donor Engagement
As a director of donor engagement, Andy supports a portfolio of donors as they develop and execute on their philanthropic goals. He also manages SVCF’s Donor Circle for the Environment, a group of donors committed to collaborative learning and grantmaking around environmental issues.
Andy has a broad-ranging professional background spanning the public, private, and nonprofit sectors with a prevailing focus on how science, technology, and innovation can drive greater social impact. Most recently he was a consultant for Redstone Strategy Group, a leading philanthropic and nonprofit consultancy, where his projects focused on climate change, water, environmental education, and biomedical research. Prior to his work at Redstone, he was the Head of Science & Innovation with the British Consulate General in Los Angeles where he developed science, technology, and policy partnerships between the US and UK on diverse topics from climate change and urban planning to regenerative medicine.
Andy has an MBA from the Yale School of Management (nonprofit focus) as well as BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford. As a lover of nature and world travel, Andy spends his free time either hiking on his favorite trails around California or wandering the world meeting new people and learning new languages – 55 countries and counting.
