In her new role, Gina will be responsible for leading SVCF’s ongoing lobbying efforts in Sacramento and its emerging efforts in Washington, D.C. SVCF’s California lobbying work is currently centered around education, including objective standards for placing students in mathematics courses that can affect their college readiness, as well as advocacy for early learning programs for the state’s youngest children. In Washington, D.C., SVCF hopes to be a leading voice on topics that have the potential to advance the philanthropic sector.
”Gina’s expertise, leadership and thoughtful judgment will help SVCF draw attention to topics of deep interest to Silicon Valley communities whose voices are not always heard by political leaders,” said SVCF’s CEO and president, Emmett Carson. “Everyone who knows Gina knows she will bring great energy and compassion to this work on behalf of the community.”
