Community foundation welcomes three new leaders to its board
Mountain View, CA, January 25, 2021 - Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) has announced that long-time board member Wade W. Loo has been named its board chair. Three new members – Shannon Nash, Mauricio Simbeck and Issac Vaughn— have also joined SVCF’s board of directors. The appointments were effective January 1, 2021.
“Shannon, Mauricio and Issac each bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and energy that will help SVCF create lasting impact in our communities,” said Wade W. Loo, new board chair of Silicon Valley Community Foundation. “We are delighted to welcome them to our board of directors.”
Wade W. Loo, board chair, is a retired KPMG audit partner. Prior to retiring from KPMG, Wade served as the senior partner in charge of audit for the Northern California business unit. In addition, Wade led KPMG’s Audit Committee Institute in Silicon Valley. Wade served for eight years in KPMG’s offices in Tokyo, Beijing and Singapore. Wade serves on the strategic advisory board for JobTrain and has served as co-president of Ascend, an organization focused on Pan-Asian leadership development. A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs, Wade holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Denver.
Shannon Nash is the chief accounting officer at Reputation.com, which helps companies manage their online information and reputation. An attorney and a CPA, Shannon previously worked at KPMG, K&L Gates LLP and Cooley LLP, and has held executive positions at Amgen, Sunseeker Media, Aspire University, Cumulus Media’s San Francisco market and Insidesource. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law.
Mauricio Simbeck is the co-founder and CEO of Milagros de Mexico, a retail chain that provides health and wellness products to the Latinx community. Prior to co-founding Milagros de Mexico, Mauricio was the CEO of Farmacia Remedios. Mauricio’s experience in the retail industry also includes a six-year tenure at H.E. Butt Grocery Company (H.E.B), where he held executive positions in store operations, procurement and supply chain. Mauricio holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Issac Vaughn is the chief operating officer at Zenefits, a cloud-based software company that helps companies manage their human resources. Before joining Zenefits, Issac served in various roles at Ooyala, including general counsel, head of corporate development, and CEO. Prior to Ooyala, Issac was a founding partner of Bennu Venture Group and the managing director of SC Investments Consulting. Earlier in his career, Issac was a partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he practiced for 14 years. Issac holds a JD from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s in economics from Santa Clara University.
