Tom Ford Honor Roll celebrates long-term support for Silicon Valley community needs

SVCF CEO Emmett Carson last month announced the creation of the Tom Ford Honor Roll to celebrate the wonderful tradition of giving created by Tom Ford (pictured below), a real estate developer and long-time philanthropist on the peninsula.

Tom FordTom established the Sand Hill Endowment Fund to leave a legacy of giving and community support in Silicon Valley. Since its inception, the Sand Hill Fund has been the source of $55 million to SVCF and one of our parent foundations, Peninsula Community Foundation. This is funding that has been injected back into Silicon Valley through SVCFs programs to build and support a strong, vibrant community.

Emmett and philanthropist Susan Ford Dorsey, Tom’s widow, made the announcement August 18 at SVCF’s annual Legacy Society Luncheon, an event that recognizes donors who have made a lasting commitment to SVCF and the community. The Tom Ford Honor Roll celebrates those Legacy Society donors who, like Tom, recognize the tremendous value of supporting SVCF’s endowment. Legacy Society donors who make gifts of $10,000 or more to our Community Endowment Fund will be included in this group in Tom’s honor.
