Officer, Donor Services, Grants
As a grants officer, Emily is responsible for complex grant processing and provides back office support for custom philanthropy clients. She manages due diligence outreach to ensure each grant is compliant with IRS tax laws and performs data analysis to track grants moving through the foundation.
Emily earned a master of arts in international & intercultural communication, focusing on nonprofit management from American University in Washington, DC. She also completed a graduate certificate in international arts management. Previously, Emily worked in marketing managing multimedia projects and cultivating cross-marketing partnerships with nonprofit organizations. She has held several consulting positions in the nonprofit sector serving organizations focused on the arts, culture and diplomacy. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado majoring in both journalism and visual art.
Emily has lived in South Dakota, Colorado, Washington, DC and the Bay Area. She enjoys exploring her surroundings through local restaurants, day trips and planning activities for when she has visitors. When she is not out exploring, she is at home researching and cooking new recipes.
