Vice President, Business, Development and Brand
As vice president of business development and brand, Gloria is part of Raising A Reader’s (RAR)leadership team and drives all revenue streams for the organization overseeing sales and fundraising. She is also responsible for brand integrity and elevating the visibility of RAR’s mission.
Prior to joining RAR, Gloria was Senior Vice President of External Affairs at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, DC. She has more than 25 years’ experience in business development and brand both domestically and internationally working both in the private and nonprofit sectors most recently working with the next generation of Latino leaders promoting diversity and access to opportunities at the federal level of government.
Gloria attended Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service obtaining a bachelor’s degree in economics and Latin American history. She also holds an M.B.A. from Georgetown University. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from Spanish parents, Gloria has resided in Washington, DC, since immigrating to the United States. While a naturalized US citizen, she lives bi-culturally between her roots in Spain and in the United States and is fluent in Spanish. Her two dogs, Blue Bayou (BB) and Tipitina, keep her busy and travel with her as often as possible to pursue her passion – live music.
