As a grants associate, Jung Youn Yang is responsible for reviewing grant recommendations and conducting due diligence to ensure each grant is compliant with IRS tax laws. She processes various grant types including donor and corporate advised, supporting organization, nonprofit investment and competitive grants. Jung Youn also conducts grant processing data analysis.
Before joining SVCF, Jung Youn worked at YWCA and UNESCO in Korea as a program coordinator and a program assistant. During her time at YWCA, she launched a national grants program for elementary and secondary school teachers to develop innovative teaching methods in economic and environmental education. At UNESCO, Jung Youn planned and coordinated the first youth regional forum in Asia, in collaboration with the UNESCO headquarters and national UNESCO offices in Asia.
Jung Youn holds a master’s degree in public affairs from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ewha Women’s University in South Korea. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband and friends.
