As a Philanthropy Associate, Kate in an integral part of the Donor Experience and Engagement team – supporting donors with their grantmaking and deepening their connection to the community through event coordination and facilitation.
Kate’s background is in public policy and political fundraising. She has experience working in the United States Senate and on political campaigns. While working on a presidential campaign, Kate traveled the country meeting with local elected and nonprofit leaders, focusing on education, veteran, and military issues. She also has experience working with cities using federal grants to improve energy efficiency and promote sustainability in their communities.
Kate is a recent transplant to the Bay Area from Washington, DC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia where she studied Foreign Affairs and Urban and Environmental Planning. In her personal time, Kate enjoys hiking with her dog, Penny, and going to farmer’s markets.
