Mia GarciaAs a Philanthropy Advisor, Mia guides individuals, families and organizations in creating philanthropic strategies that achieve lasting impact.

Prior to joining SVCF, Mia practiced as an estate planning attorney. In this role she formulated tax-efficient strategies for transferring personal and business assets and advised a variety of tax-exempt and corporate entities on formation, governance and compliance issues.

Raised in the East Bay Area, Mia earned her Bachelors degree from University of California, Davis and J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. During her nine years in Cleveland, her focus on community engagement led her become a hospice volunteer and mentor for law students. In 2021, she was thrilled to return to California where she enjoys golfing, skiing and hiking.
