Established by Theodore M. Norton, a friend and colleague of San Jose State University's Professor Fauneil J. Rinn, this scholarship was created to honor Professor Rinn and commemorate and continue her advocacy of the advancement of women. The Fauneil J. Rinn Scholarship is awarded each year to a woman student in political science or the Master's in Public Administration program at San Jose State University.
- Applicants must be women who are current students in good standing and enrolled on a full-time basis in the political science or master of public administration programs at San José State University
- A minimum 3.0 grade point average is required
- Applicants will be evaluated and recipients selected on the basis of their achievements and abilities as reflected in a brief application form, a resume and a 500-word essay on a subject relevant to the political or governmental role of women.
